Finally – A New PC Upgrade!

I’ve decided to take the plunge and upgrade my streaming and now main gaming PC 😍 Instead of doing a custom build and worrying about getting a GPU in stock, I went with an NZXT H1 Mini Pro PC build! It’s the first time I’ve bought a pre-built system, so I’ll give you my experience so far.

NZXT H1 PC alongside my widescreen Samsung monitor, Razer Blackwidow Elite kb, Logitech G502 mouse and Fuji X-T20 camera

It comes with the following specs:

  • Intel Core i7-10700K CPU @ 3.8GHz
  • 140mm AIO Liquid CPU Cooler
  • 32GB DDR4 3000 MHz RAM
  • GeForce RTX 3060 Ti GPU
  • 1TB NVMe M.2 SSD
  • 1TB 2.5″ HDD (that I’ll swap out for a 1TB NVMe M.2 SSD eventually)
  • 650W SFF Gold PSU
  • Windows 10 – that I’ve upgraded to Windows 11 already

I took advantage of the slight sale they had ($100 off) for $1599. Not too shabby for all the hardware specs listed.

There was only one problem when the PC arrived. It wouldn’t boot 😐 I proceeded to do all the things and re-seat the GPU (which was loose) as well as the motherboard, RAM, and whatever else I could reach inside the box without completely taking it apart.

A major thing to note is that there is padding inside of the case next to the GPU! So if you boot it up right away like I did, it won’t show any display or boot properly since the styrofoam padding is literally inside the case avoiding the fans from spinning. 😐 No matter how much padding you add into the packaging to ship a PC tower, there’s always a chance for bits to come loose. Such was my luck 😅

Once I got that all squared away, she ran like a champ! I like the NZXT CAM software it comes with, and that it doesn’t come with any other major bloatware like many other pre-built systems.

I’ve installed all of my current games such as Call of Duty, Mortal Kombat 11, Fall Guys, Back4Blood etc and haven’t had any issues so far. I’ve also set up my OBS and streaming stuff so that I can *finally* stream and play games on the same machine! I’ve had her for a few weeks now and it’s been glorious. I hope she will serve me well for many years to come. I also hope that she won’t overheat (as previously reported) since they’ve fixed the H1 case issues. Check out NZXT’s other builds if you’re interested!
